How is ShiftsHero different from a staffing agency?
Software, not an agency. No 35% spread, no exclusivity, no non-competes. One transparent facility-side fee — 3% on Per Diem. Clinicians pay 0%.
Is this anesthesia-only?
Anesthesiology at launch. Emergency Medicine, Intensive Care, and Internal Medicine follow based on demand.
How does credentialing work?
Upload DEA, malpractice, board cert, and CV once. We verify against primary sources. Each facility still runs its own privileging — we track who’s credentialed where so matching stays accurate.
Do anesthesiologists have to use you exclusively?
No. Zero exclusivity, zero non-competes. Keep your groups, other platforms, and direct hospital relationships alongside ShiftsHero.
When does the beta open?
Open to a limited beta cohort now. Every facility pays the same published fee, and clinicians always pay 0%.
Is malpractice included?
Clinicians carry their own policy — the same coverage they already hold. We store the certificate in your credential vault and flag it before it expires.
How fast do clinicians get paid?
Semi-monthly ACH on the 10th and 25th. No Net 14–30, no 90-day terms.
How does the network work?
Clinicians set a service radius around home and are discoverable to facilities inside it. When a facility and a clinician (or group) mutually confirm a connection, the two join each other’s network — offers and shift requests flow through it, and a connection keeps the pair matched even beyond radius. Either side can disconnect at any time.
Who handles medical billing for a shift?
At confirmation, billing is assigned in a simple cascade. The clinician or group bills by default if they have a billing solution; if not, it passes to the facility or its designee. If neither side has one, Clomr — ShiftsHero’s parent company — manages claims and collections at 4% of collections. Platform fees are unaffected either way, and clinician shift pay is never touched.
How does the facility recoup booking costs?
This is done through professional fee billing and reimbursements. If the clinician or group handles the billing, they must reimburse the facility up to the booking contract value. If they pass on billing assignment, the facility may assign billing to Clomr. Clomr will handle claims submission and adjudication and will reimburse the facility up to the booking amount minus a 4% billing fee.
