What is Per Diem coverage?
Short-notice, as-needed coverage at nearby facilities you’re typically already credentialed with — you carry your own malpractice. Zero exclusivity: take the shifts you want, wherever else you work.
How much does it cost?
Clinicians pay 0% to the platform. All fees are facility-side. You see your exact take-home before accepting.
What about malpractice coverage?
You carry your own policy. Confirm your carrier covers the facility and setting before you accept a shift.
How fast do I get paid?
Semi-monthly ACH run on the 10th and 25th of every month, paying out the reconciled days from the second half or the first half of the month, respectively.
Can I set my own rate?
Yes. Post a public rate and set a hidden minimum reserve rate; the facility does the same with a hidden maximum. The platform resolves matches within the overlap. You always see exact take-home before accepting.
Is this anesthesia-only?
We’re hyper-focused on serving Anesthesiology right now. Emergency Medicine, Intensive Care, and Internal Medicine are on the roadmap based on demand.
How do facilities find me?
You set a service radius anchored at your home address (25 miles is a good start). Facilities inside that radius see you as a Per Diem candidate automatically. When you and a facility confirm a connection — a mutual invitation both sides approve — you stay matched with each other even beyond your radius. You confirm or pass on every offer, or turn on auto-confirm per facility you trust.
I practice with an anesthesia group — can we use ShiftsHero?
Yes. A Group Profile lets the practice work as one entity: your group admin manages the roster, rate card, and dispatch radius, connects with the facilities the group contracts with, and accepts and assigns bookings for the team. You’re notified of every booking made on your behalf, group earnings route to the group entity, and you can keep a personal profile alongside — same credentials, separate rates and earnings. Clinicians pay 0% either way.
Who bills for my professional services?
By default, you do (or your group does, on group bookings) — if you have a billing solution, nothing changes and no billing fee applies. If you don’t, billing cascades to the facility or its designee. If neither side has a solution, Clomr — ShiftsHero’s parent company — manages claims and collections at 4% of collections. Your shift pay is never touched; platform fees stay facility-side.
How does the facility recoup booking costs?
This is done through professional fee billing and reimbursements. If the clinician or group handles the billing, they must reimburse the facility up to the booking contract value. If they pass on billing assignment, the facility may assign billing to Clomr. Clomr will handle claims submission and adjudication and will reimburse the facility up to the booking amount minus a 4% billing fee.
